Down boy!
A charming 20th century articulated dog…
These scratch-built wooden toys were often produced as home projects or by local crafts people throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, and can be found in a variety of different styles. They are now considered little works of folk art and are highly collectible.
This charming mahogany example has an unusual round collar (most I’ve seen are square) which retains remnants of its original yellow paint, while its hinged joints allow the head, ears, legs and tail to move independently.
Dating from around the 1940s-1950s, it comes in excellent vintage condition with minimal signs of wear, and is dripping in nostalgia!

H18cm (toes to ears) x L26cm (nose to tail) x W5cm
