Description
This awesome teak pedestal cabinet really is a masterclass in Danish furniture making!
Designed in the 1960s by Johannes Sorth and produced by Bornholm Møbelfabrik, it’s expertly made with subtle exposed joinery details to its raised edges and an inverted rear section at the base, allowing it to fit over a skirting board with the cabinet’s back flush against the wall.
The lockable door opens to reveal five adjustable and removable shelves, so it can be used for drinks, storage or pretty much anything else you can think of…
Standing like a Victory Column to all things teak, its beautifully curved form and high quality veneers make it one of my favourite Danish furniture designs… it really is one for the teak purist!
In excellent vintage condition, it comes complete with original manufacturer’s label and model / run number ‘205 19’ stamped on its reverse.
