A petite and effortlessly stylish early 1950s writing bureau.
A flip-down desktop and shelved open front, perched on penguin-like feet!
The back sits flush against a wall and contrasts sharply with the angled front, giving it a distinctive, modernist look.
You’ll often see this design attributed to Dutch interior architect, Cor Alons, and although I I’ve researched this and can’t find conclusive evidence, I do believe they were likely produced in the Netherlands, as this is where you’ll most often see them come up for sale.
This fine example has been thoroughly cleaned and oiled and comes in very good vintage condition with only minor signs of use, its compact size making it a practical, versatile and stylish piece of furniture ideal for modern living.
