Designed in the 1960s by top British designer John Herbert, and produced by quality furniture manufacturer A. Younger Ltd, this iconic design features a slatted beech hat rack and a solid afrormosia frame, with four tooth-like coat hooks!
John Herbert is regarded as one of the most talented British designers of the Mid 20th Century and an early adopter of the Danish style, while A. Younger Ltd produced high-end furniture for some of the top retailers of the day, including Heal’s of London.
I recently sold a double version of the design, and this scarce single example comes in excellent vintage condition.
