A super pretty (and pretty damn super) 20th Century hand-carved wall mirror…
Initially I wondered if this little gem was sculpted from a single piece of wood, but on closer inspection it seems to be a composite of different hardwood types which have been layered together into a solid block, and then carved into this distinctive, biomorphic form.
A thing of beauty and a difficult thing to make requiring both skill and artistic flair… or as they say in the business, not a five minute job!
Signed on the reverse by the unknown artist ‘Gm M87’ (?).
