This 1960s tallboy by Durable Suites ticks all the boxes, with those unusual proportions and shapely sleigh legs.
The design seeks to emulate Danish furniture of the same era but, in the best possible way, somehow manages to overshoot the mark!
An original manufacturer’s label on the back states this is a ‘Six drawer chest’, but I’ve counted several times and I can confirm there are definitely only five… but fear not, what they lack in numeracy they certainly make up for in the furniture making department.
A good quality and beautifully eccentric piece indeed, and in excellent vintage condition with smooth running drawers and only minimal signs of age.
