Whoever created this large biomorphic sculpture perhaps drew inspiration from the artist Henry Moore, and added a good pinch of Hepworth too!
An imposing and heavy piece at nearly 7kg, it’s beautifully sculpted from solid hardwood (possibly cherry), and looks impressive from every angle with those pierced, flowing curves and deep carved recesses.
A wise man told me it could be a contemporary take on the Three Graces, and this may well be the case (see final pics).
In very good vintage condition with only minor signs of wear, and signed ‘BWD / 2007’ on its base.
