A very elegant 1950s chest of drawers by British furniture maker, Alfred Cox.
A beautifully figured French Walnut cabinet with five dovetail-jointed drawers, sitting pretty on slender, shapely legs.
You’ll often see this design with curved brass handles, but these original and perfectly patinaed v-shaped versions really do it for me… details.
Alfred Cox were a British post-war furniture company who made quality pieces for high end retailers of the day, including Heal’s of London.
This particularly attractive example comes in excellent vintage condition with iridescent walnut veneers and beautifully clean, smooth running drawers.
The top drawer is complete with the manufacturer’s tag still attached, and the back of the carcass is initialled by the cabinet maker.
