A snaky glaze on this pretty little Albert Kiessling vase…
Kiessling was a ceramicist who lived and worked in Langenhessen, East Germany, where he established his own studio in 1954.
He is best known for a shrink-glaze technique, which he used to create this distinctive ‘snakeskin’ finish.
In pale grey / cream with a terracotta crackle and complete with the maker’s signature just visible on its base.
Excellent undamaged condition, although it does have a slightly irregular shape… but that glaze is something else!
